David Kibbe, WG'80

David_Kibbe_Photo.jpgDavid has led healthcare organizations both on the payer and provider side of the healthcare equation throughout his almost 40 years of healthcare business experience.  In essence, he has pursued a double major focusing both on health care delivery and health care financing, utilizing economics and incentives to shape and influence provider behavior.  His focus for years has been  on healthcare reform at the local level through the empowerment of providers assuming accountability for the health of populations. Kibbe has served as the CEO of seven provider-oriented or provider sponsored health plans, both in the not-for-profit and for-profit worlds. He has also worked within five large health systems at senior leadership levels including Robert Johnson Medical Center, Inova Health System, Bronson Healthcare Group Universal Health Services, and Cone Health. His expertise includes provider reimbursement and contracting, business development and growth, operational turnarounds, team leadership, and strategy. 

Kibbe earned a BS in Business Administration majoring in Accounting and Labor Relations at Drexel University in Philadelphia where he also worked at Jefferson Medical College and a CPA firm. He earned his MBA in Health Care Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1980 with significant focus on the financial side. He lives in Greensboro, NC where he works at Cone Health, serving as Senior Vice President, Network Development and Contracting.
