The Wharton Health Care Management Alumni Association (WHCMAA) provides access to services and information online in a manner that attempts to respect and to protect your privacy. This statement describes our information collection practices with respect to your use of the WHCMAA website (www.whartonhealthcare.org) and explains how we use and protect your personal information in connection with your use of this site.
Scope of Privacy Policy:
This statement applies only to information collected by this WHCMAA website (www.whartonhealthcare.org). It does not apply to information collected offline or information collected by websites of -- or operated by or on behalf of -- the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School or any or any other alumni club of either the University of Pennsylvania or the Wharton School.
What Information We Collect and Why:
WHCMAA collects the following types of information about you:
Your login information. Login information is used to determine whether or not you are authorized to use specific services.
Personally identifiable information that you provide voluntarily. This includes information such as name, address, email address, password, gender, maiden name, nick name, birthday, occupation, company name, and spouse’s name. This information is used to respond to your requests, to communicate with you, to provide you with better service, and to build your alumni profile. We may combine this information with information from your public social media accounts to organize our community of alumni and supporters.
Personal Profile information and Profile Page. Your Profile features information you may wish to share with other WHCMAA members who access your Profile Page. Only people who are WHCMAA members or individuals hired by WHCMAA or University to administer the Club and to support the NationBuilder platform can view information on a member’s Profile Page. The information that is automatically displayed on your Profile Page is your Name, Affiliation, Email Address, Regional Location, Degree/Major Information, Employment Information, Student Activities, and selected additional information. You can control exactly what information is displayed on your Profile Page by editing your Profile.
Updates to personally identifiable information that you provide voluntarily. When you update the information on your profile page, the updated information may be forwarded to the Wharton School database that maintains alumni information on behalf of the School, WhartonConnect. Cookies. Cookies are small text files that many websites transfer to users' hard drives to enable the site to deliver personalized services or to provide persistent authentication. The information contained in a cookie typically includes information collected automatically by the web server and/or information provided voluntarily by the user. The user controls, via the computer’s operating system, whether cookies will be accepted and, if so, how they will be handled (for example, deleted or saved). Our website uses cookie technology. If the user blocks cookies, this may negatively affect the functionality of this site.
Auto-collected information (web logs). Our web server automatically recognizes the Internet domain and IP address from which you accessed our website, the date and time of your visit, and the pages you visited on our site, as well as information automatically forwarded by your browser. This information is used to help us understand aggregate use of our website, to track usage trends, and to improve our services. Web logs may also be used for system problem monitoring and maintenance. Use of NationBuilder Platform:

Use of Stripe as Transaction Processing Platform:
WHCMAA uses Stripe as its platform for processing credit card transaction. When you voluntarily submit your credit card to the WHCMAA website, the information is forwarded to Stripe as the credit card transaction engine for the Association. Fraudulent Behavior:
This is a community site that is based primarily on member input. WHCMAA cannot guarantee the accuracy of information presented. However, anyone demonstrated to have engaged in fraudulent behavior may be subject to actions, including, but not limited to, loss of privileges as a member as well as prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
Security:
WHCMAA is committed to ensuring the security of your information. We have put in place reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access to or use of the information collected online.
