Yumin joined Bain Capital Ventures in 2017 and leads our healthcare team. He is based in Boston and invests across venture and growth stages. Yumin was previously General Partner at HLM Venture Partners, a healthcare-focused venture fund.
Yumin spent 10 years at HLM, where he led a variety of investments across healthcare IT and services sectors. He served as board director for AbleTo, mPulse Mobile, Oceans Healthcare, Payspan (acquired by Primus Capital), Spinal Kinetics, and Vets First Choice. He was also board observer for Imagine Health, Nordic Consulting (acquired by Silversmith Capital Partners), Persivia, and TYRX (acquired by Medtronic).
Yumin serves on the New England Venture Capital Association’s board of directors, and was previously chair of New England Venture Network. He is an investor and mentor in several healthcare accelerators, including Blueprint Health, Healthbox, Startup Health, Rock Health, and 500 Startups. He is also on the board of overseers for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the oversight committee for Boston University’s Coulter Foundation. Yumin also served as a lecturer in the Gordon Institute at Tufts University, where he taught entrepreneurial finance.
