Philippa Mbonye leads the Ethical Principles in Health Care (EPiHC) Secretariat, currently hosted by IFC, and works with IFC’s Global Health Services team supporting healthcare investment and advisory activities globally.
Prior to IFC, Philippa held senior leadership roles in private healthcare delivery and financial technology in Eastern Africa, with experience spanning cross-border operations, greenfield healthcare development, technology-enabled service delivery, operational transformation, and quality improvement. More recently, she co-founded a preventive-care wellness enterprise in Uganda.
Philippa holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Carleton University. A certified Executive Coach, she is passionate about healthcare quality and governance, leadership development, gender equity, and building sustainable healthcare systems.
