Career Development Webinar Series

with featured speakers Debra Feldman, JobWhiz, Executive Talent Agent and Barbara Safani, President, Career Solvers

In the past few years, LinkedIn has become an essential component of executive career portfolios. Often, first impressions are made by an individual’s LI profile content, status updates, long form publications, sample reports and presentations, network connections, groups, experience and education. Not only is LI mined by recruiters looking for talent, it is relied on by almost everyone curious to learn about another person’s background and thought leadership. It has also become a popular platform for initiating low-risk communication.
In our first Career Development webinar of the New Year, Debra Feldman and Barbara Safani will discuss how to maximize the benefits of LinkedIn, whether you are staying in your current role, passively open to new opportunities, or eagerly pursuing a career change. Topics that will be addressed include:

  • Optimizing your public profile as an online resume
  • Connecting with colleagues and others to expand visibility and accessibility
  • Attracting attention from the right career connections
  • Choosing and participating in Groups
  • Writing status updates, commenting, selecting attachments, & posting articles
  • Using LinkedIn for career-related research
  • Increasing the value of giving and getting recommendations
  • Addressing privacy concerns

Debra Feldman
Debra Feldman, JobWhiz Executive Talent Agent, develops custom-engineered go-to-market job search strategies and personally implements confidential campaigns for top executives, especially those who are changing focus, too busy to network. Re-entering the workforce, or must keep their inquiries secret. She identifies needs and expectations among vetted employers and finds potential opportunities that closely match her clients’ preferences for industry, location, compensation, and responsibilities.

Debra launched JobWhiz in 2000 after almost 20 years in healthcare consulting where she honed marketing, business development, communication, and research skills. She personally promotes her clients to hiring authorities and schedules meetings with principals, not HR or recruiters, to explore interests and fit. Her introductions to decision makers generate leads to unadvertised positions in the hidden job market.

Debra is affiliated with or recommended by respected business, academic, and career organizations, including Harvard Business School, Columbia University Career Services, Columbia Business School, and Financial Executives Networking Group. Her articles have been widely published in professional media and her methods for accessing unadvertised opportunities in the Hidden Job Market are frequently quoted.
