Katherine Clark, MD'15, WG’15

Katherine Clark is a board-certified cardiologist and is appointed as an Assistant Professor of Medicine, specializing in both Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology and Advanced Echocardiography at the Yale School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Health System. In this role, Dr. Clark provides clinical inpatient care for patients with advanced heart failure and those with heart transplants and left-ventricular assist devices, as well as performing and interpreting studies in the echocardiography lab.

In addition to her clinical time, she is the co-director of the cardiovascular medicine clinical ground rounds committee and various other teaching initiatives for medical trainees, including students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers. Furthermore, Dr. Clark is on the leadership committee for the Connecticut Chapter of the America College of Cardiology Women in Cardiology and is on the board of directors for the international non-profit organization, Women in Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support. Her academic interests include leveraging innovation through new therapies, technology, and payment models to improve treatment with heart failure. Her work has been featured in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, the Journal of the American Heart Association, and the Journal of Cardiac Failure, among others.

Katherine received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where she completed the dual MD/MBA degree in Health Care Management from the Wharton School of Business. During her training, she completed two internships at Becton Dickinson and B. Braun Medical. She completed her internal medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She subsequently completed fellowship training in general cardiovascular medicine and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology and advanced imaging at Yale New Haven Hospital.

She is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as the president of the Wharton Healthcare Management Alumni Association.
