Howard is Senior Clinic Medical Director at Carbon Health, where he leads several technology-forward urgent care clinics in the Seattle area. He has overseen the growth of some of the company’s busiest and highest-rated clinics, while also partnering closely with Carbon’s product team on the development and deployment of its AI-powered electronic medical record.
Howard has held senior leadership roles both in health systems and in health tech companies, including serving as department chief at the largest health system in the Pacific Northwest and as a senior product leader in public health tech firms. Over his career, he has personally cared for more than 40,000 patients and an additional 8,000 using AI-powered documentation.
He earned his MBA from Wharton, his MD from the University of Illinois, and his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College. He is passionate about the intersection of clinical care, technology, and operations — with a particular focus on how AI can reduce clinician burden, improve patient access, and enable new models of care delivery.
