Heidi Sprang is Senior Vice President of Strategy, Planning, and Alliance Management at Akebia Therapeutics, where she currently oversees the company’s global alliances, steers program execution, and leads renal disease strategy and evaluation of new growth avenues. Prior to Akebia, Heidi held a variety of roles across commercial, corporate, and business development, and business operations at large and small biopharma companies and across a variety of disease areas.
Heidi earned her Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College in 1995 with a concentration in Chemistry and received her MBA from The Wharton School in 2002 with a double major in Health Care Management and Finance.
She resides in Boston with her husband, Kurt, and her 15-year old puppy, Riley. She has a passion for animals and has volunteered for Muttville and Grey Muzzle, both non-profits that focus on senior dogs. She also loves to travel and looks forward to the skies opening up again post-COVID.
