Panelists:
Tom Olenzak
Tom is Managing Director of Innovation and Strategic Investment for Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia. Through the Independence Center for Health Care Innovation, Tom leads the company’s efforts to identify external sources of innovation to support the company’s objectives and to help curate a dialog among institutions across the health care ecosystem to address some of the largest issues impacting the cost and quality of healthcare. He manages the company’s innovation project portfolio and rapid innovation and prototyping methodology. Tom is a graduate of Princeton University.
Sasha Schrode
Sasha is the President and CEO of Greppo Technologies, partner at Robin Hood Ventures and adjunct professor at Temple University. She is a healthcare executive and entrepreneur with diverse and progressive product development experience in global pharmaceutical and medical device companies. She specializes in working with healthcare companies on bringing products from concept through commercialization, bioengineering, sales, marketing and exit strategies. She is an active speaker and panelist on topics related to medical device innovation, adding value in healthcare, funding and advice for start-ups and disruption in healthcare. Sasha has a business degree from the Purdue School of Business and a MBA with a focus on health care and finance from Northeastern University.
Michael Poisel
Since joining the University of Pennsylvania in 2009, Michael has been building entrepreneurial programs for the university. He currently manages PCI Ventures, which includes UPstart, AppitUP, DevelUPmed and UPadvisors. Michael holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Systems Engineering from The Moore School of Engineering of the University of Pennsylvania, and has an M.B.A. in finance and entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania.
