Founder and CEO
ProgenyHealth
Dr. Stang is a board-certified pediatrician, a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a recognized leader in improving care management and health outcomes for premature and medically complex newborns. She founded ProgenyHealth in 2003 with the goal of improving outcomes for premature and medically complex infants, enhancing patient and provider experience, and reducing overall costs of care.
Taking an entrepreneurial approach in an industry that is historically innovation averse, she built the business literally from the ground up – starting alone in her basement and now employing over 230 people. ProgenyHealth’s integrated, specialty-focused utilization management and case management solution is a rare example of a healthcare innovation that has delivered irrefutable value to patients, providers, and payers alike. The company’s data-driven business model enables its team of clinical experts to work collaboratively with providers across the country to ensure at-risk infants receive the highest standard of care in the NICU, come home healthy, and stay that way.
To date, the company has managed nearly 100,000 NICU cases in over 1,400 facilities in all 50 states. The team is recognized as leaders in managing infants born with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), addressing social determinants of health, and promoting evidence-based best practices throughout the first year of life. ProgenyHealth’s integrated approach has proven effective in improving infant quality outcomes and helping payers save millions of dollars in claims costs.
