Dona Kim Murphey, MD PhD CHW is a neurologist, neuroscientist, historian of science, and community health worker/organizer who tackles racialized health disparities as structural oppressions rooted in a profit over people medical model. Dr. Murphey is Founder and Managing Member of PrognosUs, a high touch, place-based, tech-enabled platform supporting diverse family caregivers of people living with dementia by leveraging the culturally fluent and language specific wisdom and fellowship of disproportionately impacted communities.
Dona also serves as fractional Chief Scientific Officer for Synthesys Brain Health (Lifelines Neuro + Neurovative Diagnostics), advancing EEG as an important functional safety metric in CNS drug development. She currently sits on the boards of Woori Juntos, Healthcare For Action, and the Race and Equity Leadership and Research Collective. Dr. Murphey has also participated in patient-led research and advocacy efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and with the FDA independently as well as with Doctors For America on the topic of dementia drug development.
Dona received her BA in History and Science from Harvard College and an MD and PhD in Neuroscience from Baylor College of Medicine.
