As Chief Medical Officer of Johns Hopkins Health Plan, Don Liss leads our organizational objectives and key clinical initiatives, including our cost of care programs for pharmacy and medical management, health equity and quality initiatives, member experience, policy and processes for reimbursements, authorizations and coding.
A physician with over 20 years of senior leadership in managed care and health insurance, Don previously served as Chief Medical Officer at Jefferson Health Plans and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, as well as in key roles at Aetna, Independence Blue Cross and CVS Health. He brings a successful track record of directly supervising health plan operations, a depth of knowledge of state Medicaid processes and leadership expertise as an effective cross-functional collaborator.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine, graduating from Drexel University College of Medicine, Don is a steadfast advocate for strategies that cultivate health equity and improve quality of care. He is dedicated to promoting wellness, addressing member needs, and improving access to high-quality care.
