David Verrier, PhD

david_verrier.jpgDavid Verrier is the Director of the Office of Pre-Professional Advising at Johns Hopkins University, an Office dedicated to encouraging students pursuing careers in the health and legal professions to make conscious and thoughtful decisions about their future paths.  David leads a staff dedicated to providing quality academic advising, professional school application advising, and career counseling. David’s primary advising is of premedical students, working with over 350 applicants per year to successfully gain admission.  He has been in this position for the past year and a pre-health advisor for 25 years, including 16 years working in at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.  He received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Rhode Island, his M.Ed. in Student Services in Higher Education from the University of Vermont, and his Ph.D. in Higher and Adult Education from Ohio State University.  His leadership has included being president of the Northeast Association of Health Professions Advisors and board member of the National Association of Health Professions Advisors. He also served on the Holistic Review Committee of the Association of American Medical Colleges.
