Bob Clarke has been a trusted adviser to healthcare CEOs and boards for 30 years. His acumen in executive search and integrated talent management is valued by hospital systems, managed care organizations, medical groups, indemnity companies, end-of-life care providers, healthcare associations, and other medical delivery systems across the United States.

His work includes consulting with boards of directors of healthcare organizations to manage C-suite transitions, developing succession plans, assessing leadership teams, and implementing leadership development programs. He has been responsible for building high-performance, high-growth teams at numerous companies.

Healthcare is at a crossroads, and Bob’s work with payers, providers, and post-acute companies is coming together as the industry looks for a new paradigm. It is at this intersection that he focuses his attention.

In 1984, Bob joined a regional executive search firm (The Furst Group), where he developed a national division focused on healthcare executive recruitment. Through the creation of Management Partners, Inc. (MPI), he led the acquisition in 1991 of this specialized practice, now known simply as Furst Group, and the creation of NuBrick Partners, a team focused on the long-term development of teams and executive leadership.

Bob serves on the Equity of Care Committee for the Institute for Diversity, part of the American Hospital Association (AHA). He also is a member of the Global Partners in Care Advisory Council (formerly known as the Foundation for Hospices in Sub Saharan Africa or FHSSA) which, in partnership with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), works to improve care at the end of life throughout the United States and worldwide where the need is great and the resources are few. Bob also recently served on the board of the National Hospice Foundation of the NHPCO.

He has written for Modern Healthcare and the AHA’s Trustee magazine and has led workshops on issues regarding effective leadership design, team selection and development, and managed care and provider relationships. He has authored studies on executive leadership issues for a variety of healthcare fields and regularly serves as an expert resource for healthcare publications.

Bob is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center, Visiting Nurses Association, and the American Red Cross, Rock River Chapter. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

Joe Mazzenga has a strong history as a consultant in building effective executive teams through leadership development and assessment, executive team performance, talent management, succession planning, and talent alignment amid organizational and cultural change.

He has more than 30 years of experience in leadership development and strategy implementation, helping Fortune 500 clients optimize their talent.

Joe serves as an executive consultant and coach to board members, CEOs, physician executives and chairs, and C-suite executives on matters pertaining to board relations, leadership development, talent management, and enterprise-wide leadership and change. He has taught on Change Management at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

His clients include Allstate Insurance, Northwestern Medicine, BJC HealthCare, NorthShore University HealthSystem, Bank of America, and Baptist Health of South Florida.

Prior to joining Furst Group and NuBrick Partners, Joe served as the Senior Vice President and Regional Practice Leader for Aon Hewitt’s Central West region. In this role, he was responsible for business development, innovation, and business results across the Talent and Rewards Practice. He previously was the Founder and Principal Partner of Whetstone, Inc., where he was lead consultant and strategist for a variety of clients in the United States and Europe.

Joe also developed and led a multi-disciplinary, multi-practitioner psychotherapy practice for 17 years and was on the medical staff of Lutheran General Hospital, an Advocate Aurora Health hospital. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from Trinity International University in Illinois as well as a master’s degree in Social Work and Counseling Psychology from George Williams College in Illinois.
