Allison Morrison, WG’22

Allie received her MBA in Health Care Management and Entrepreneurship and Innovation from The Wharton School in 2022. During her time at Wharton, Allie served on the 2021 and 2022 Wharton Health Care Conference board. For her MBA summer internship, Allie joined Strive Health, a value-based kidney disease management company. While at Strive Health, she worked on the Care model team serving as a care model delivery intern.

Prior to attending Wharton, Allie worked as a nurse practitioner with Baptist Healthcare’s outpatient group practice in the primary care and urgent care settings in an underserved area of downtown Memphis for 6+ years. Her experience as a nurse practitioner was richly rewarding yet extremely challenging. COVID-19 presented unprecedented challenges especially when it came to care delivery. During this time, she had the opportunity to lead the COVID response for her center. She served as the liaison between the clinic and the larger hospital administration and was responsible for communicating changes in protocol and procedures effectively and efficiently with clinical staff. She led a shift to a hybrid format where the center pivoted to performing primarily virtual visits. She helped train many of the physicians and nurse practitioners on how to perform a visit in a virtual environment. She also served on Baptist Healthcare’s system-wide “Advanced Practice Council” working with the administration and making recommendations for how best to utilize the 1000+ nurse practitioners and physician assistants within the system. In addition to her roles with Baptist Healthcare, she worked with the city of Memphis on a walk-in clinic initiative for city employees. She also had the opportunity to work in student health at Rhodes College and the University of Memphis.
