Summary:

Molecular diagnostics holds the promise of being able to accurately diagnose patient’s conditions and as well; assist in providing directed and effective therapies.  The market has gone through explosive growth over the recent past and promises much more in the future.  Hear from experts in the field regarding the challenges of development, regulatory approval, payment, and market access – what has worked and what has not.

Panelists:
  • Sri Kotte, Wharton MBA, Market Access, Natera.   Natera is a genetic testing company that develops and commercializes non-invasive methods for analyzing DNA.   The current product offerings are mainly in prenatal and in-vitro fertilization testing.   Natera is located in San Carlos, CA.
  • Elizabeth Mansfield, PhD. Dr. Mansfield is the Deputy Office Director for Personalized Medicine in the Office of In Vitro Diagnostics and Radiological Health (OIR) in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH).
  • Katherine Nathanson, MD, Professor of Medicine, in the Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania.
  • Charles Root, PhD, CEO of CodeMap, LLC. Dr. Root has provided laboratory coding and reimbursement information to healthcare providers and manufacturers for over 25 years regarding compliance, coding and economic issues.  CodeMap is a leader in gaining coding, coverage, and payment for molecular diagnostic technologies.

These sessions are free of charge to WHCMAA dues paying members and will permit a listener to listen in through their computer for these nationally broadcast one hour time slots.  It will also provide listeners to call in during these sessions to provide their perspectives.   These sessions will also be replayed 3 more times during the week on SIRIUS Channel 111.    It is a great way to join in the conversation!
